Pullup bars (a.k.a. pull-up bars, chin up bars) are very high-value fitness equipment. They are relatively low-cost, fairly easy to install, and can give you a fantastic workout in a short amount of time. When you workout with a bar that is fixed in position, there is nothing to setup, pull out, or prepare. Just jump up, grab it, and start pumping out reps!

As discussed in the workout section, there are several different exercises you can do on a pullup bar, and quite a few muscles can be involved. Chest, back, arms, and even some core body work can be done - and done quickly. Combine some pullup routines with a run and you've just worked all your muscles, plus your cardio function.

Chin up bars (a.k.a. pullup bars) are usually fairly easy to install. The key, of course, is deciding where it will be placed. Keep in mind that they could put marks or indentations on doorframes or walls; thus garages and basements make great choices.

This is a very basic, simple design. I would think that you definitely would want the door closed when using it or you would possibly bend your door hinges. Of course, with the door closed, you will have to keep your lower body from swinging forward into the door.
